Pabu is an izakaya-style and sushi bar in downtown San Francisco close to the Ferry Building. Walking into Pabu, you see this Japanese charm reflected on the menu and painting combined with modern-looking interior design. The Kaiseki menu here is curated by renowned chef Ken Tominaga which gives you this stunning experience over seven courses. From sushi, to A5 WAGYU beef, to elegant dessert, it is a dynamic experience that’s hard to forget. I also find the $85 for the whole Kaiseki experience very reasonable comparing to a lot of the Michelin-starred restaurants.
“Ichi-go Ichi-e” or “Yi-qi Yi-hui” in Chinese, means for this time only, once chance in a lifetime.
Happy Spoon Oyster. What a bite to start this dinner!
Savery Egg Custard with Mushroom
A refreshing sorbet as a little stop
My favorite dish of the night: Miso Black Cod. I believe it was marinated with sugar so fish is so tender with light sweetness.
