At Union Square, you never worry about not finding great places to eat. If you open Yelp, you find all the restaurants around you have a 4+ rating and tons of good reviews – so Yelp doesn’t help you make a decision at this point. I ventured into Aliment as I was just looking for some simple food that I didn’t need to dress up to enjoy. As it described in their website, Aliment is more like neighborhood restaurant but still serves chef driven cuisine. The interior here is simple, welcoming and cozy. You probably already noticed in my blog – I am big fan for good design so a restaurant with a beautifully designed restaurant always gets me.
My favorite dish was Brussel Sprouts, it was crunchy but not over fried. I also tried lamb sirloin, it was a little dry though but seasoned well with zatar spice.
Brussels Sprouts – toasted nori, fish sauce caramel $10. Nori is the Japanese seaweed.
Bolocnese – ground pork, beef, tomato, herbs, buccatini $18
