In my last post I introduced the farmer’s market that I usually visit in Oakland. Shakewell has been my go-to brunch place after a farmer’s market tour. Why I like this place so much? Here are 2 reasons:
- Uniqueness. Everyone menu item here is well composed and given enough attention to details. The choice of ingredients is also very diverse so no matter what you order, you will expect a colorful plate.
- Balanced. I am actually not a big fan of brunch since typical brunch places in the US always offer a huge plate, and most times without any vegetable. Here, not the case. With poached eggs, you can also eat spanish chorizo, romesco sauce and herbs. With scrambled eggs, you will also enjoy plenty of vegetables which just makes your Saturday or Sunday light and fresh.
