In a short visit to City of Emeryville, I had the best Thai food I had ever tried since coming to US (seriously). In Buffalo, there are 1-2 Thai restaurants that I usually go to when I miss curry, but their food is either too soggy, too oily or too much coconut cream that my stomach simply can’t digest.
The food at Jasmine Blossom was clearly a standout. It is light, deliberate, flavorful and stays true to traditional flavors. They are very generous with Thai food ingredients such as bamboo, basil leaves, bean and peppers. My favorite is the dessert – mango & sticky rice. The chef cut mango into even pieces and laid them around the sticky rice. Great presentation always adds more value to a traditional dish.
Plus – I love Emeryville as a city. It is so close to the ocean, small but very convenient. You can walk to everything you need, such as great restaurants, gyms, IKEA, Trader Joe, Target…It is also surrounded by many other great cities – San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland and Napa Valley. Love this vibrant and cozy city!
